Glock 19c Price - The original is still very good in Gen 3, my wife and I had a great time right out of the box. Forgiving and somewhat simpler, it doesn't take much to work very well. The 2k rounds with a tungsten guide bar feel strong and with an aftermarket scope set it's probably a longer range rifle. Easy to learn, not too big for anyone except the smallest hidden figures.
I bought a gen 1 17 in the late 80's/early 90's. I've given it countless rounds and it always runs like a champ. I have several pistols. But this is my concealed carry piece and my goto.

This is one of the best 9mm pistols. I know there are many, and the Glock 19 is the #1 in the US, but the full-size, lightweight, slim, and concealable Glock 17 Gen 4 feels great with a beavertail back strap, because NATO FMJs are a fun practice and not rubbish. High pressure for affordable practice ammunition. I usually go for NATO 239 grain .45 acp Glock 21 models but this is my second favorite. I have not tried the Gen 5 yet and am generally more comfortable with the Gen 4 service size Glocks. A better recoil assembly can help with any VEs or erratic ejection issues.
Possibly the best poly gun ever! Look how many LE agencies around the world trust the Glock 17. You don't get that kind of endorsement without getting the little things right! The reliability of the G17 is indisputable; So what's not to like? ugly gun? Check. Not the cleanest or lightest trigger brake on the market? Check. The original "plastic" gun? Check. Factory front and rear views that...ummm?...aren't they the best? Check. Hit every time and place rounds on target like a champ? Check it out too. Did it survive and actually thrive through years and years of torture tests administered by different agencies, police departments and military? It would also be a check. I bought it fairly used with no knowledge of its history. I modified the trigger and firing pin assemblies to improve trigger pull and added fiber optic sights. It was 100% reliable! I've had it for about 7 years. Steel case, factory remanufactured and old ammo - just eat it up and spit it out! I have a collection of pistols and I buy and sell them, but I keep this one.
I bought my G17, Gen4 to have a single action 9mm to use at the range. It previously had a double action .40 cal. The ease of shooting and feeling is excellent. It included the different sized back straps which is definitely a plus. I installed the Ultimate Pyramid flat face trigger assembly, extended slide release, and optic sites. But right out of the box it shoots very well. All told, I have about $900 worth of this gun, which I think is worth it for my preferences. Fits well in my hand, accurate, minimal recoil, snap trigger break and quick recovery, good balance and reliable. The holster pull-out is smooth, but it's not too big for concealed carry. Great at the shooting range and used during tactical operations. I highly recommend this rifle for a new or experienced shooter.

I've had my Gen4 Glock 17 for several years now and I think it's one of the best 9mm pistols on the market today. I installed the "Ultimate Pyramid Trigger Assembly" and fiber optic sights. These options only enhance the capabilities of this pistol. In addition, the large back strap and beaver tail give it a good touch and comfort. Due to the angle and size of the design, it is comfortable and smooth to get a good grip on the drawing. Needless to say, this is critical for speed in getting sight alignment for a quick shot on target. As a service firearm, it's lightweight so you won't get tired of carrying a heavy handgun all day. On the track or during tactics, the accuracy is excellent. Shooting with the right or left hand is not a problem as it is well balanced. Whether taking precision shots or rapid fire, I haven't had a malfunction yet. The bottom line is that I recommend this pistol for home defense, military service, or even competition shooting.

There was one time in 2015 where I had a situation with my friends where we had no oil and no cleaning kit and neither was coming anytime soon. It was the British Army and we were delighted that we didn't have to clean our guns and also, like a two-stroke engine, that the gun wouldn't fire after just a few shots. It seems like I got into an up close and personal situation and this went on and on and went through full contact. To this day, I still have dreams about this gun that was given to me and how it saved my life.
You can't beat it, it just keeps carbon off the pieces and out of your game. The sights used to blow my mind, but when you put the gun pressure on, guess what. Works. Thanks for my life Glock :).
I have had my Glock 17, Gen 4 for about 5 years. To this day I still wear it as my duty carry for a number of reasons; durability, precision, versatility, weight, number of turns, balance, etc. The only modifications I have made to my pistol are; Pyramid trigger, TruGlo optical sights, stainless steel competition recoil spring and grip strap. All these elements have been used by . Having the "back strap" options provides a great fit for the gun in my hand. With several other pistols, the Glock 17, Gen 4 is my "go to" pistol and I always feel safe when it is by my side.
I have a gen 2 G17. It has never missed a beat. I switched to newer magazines. The original magazines are starting to crack. I replaced the springs and changed the clutch.
