Ruger 57 Caliber - The FN P90 is a carbon fiber developed for NATO as a fully automatic Personal Defense Weapon (PDW) for couriers and drivers.
Intended to be more effective than a pistol, this little piece is very effective. It's easy to handle and at close range, and with a real charge it can penetrate most body armor.

The rear sight is fully adjustable for accuracy at long range, a nice feature on the rifle. The front view is tall.
A green fiber optic sight insert produces a good view. The gun came out of the scope box at 25 yards at 50 o'clock.
The Ruger has a removable sight plate that makes red dot sighting easier. This plate must be ordered from Roger's website.

The pistol is much faster to aim than the FN. In front of FN's safety controls, quick controls are not easy.
But enough of those comparisons, let's look at the Ruger on its own merits. The top of the slide is cut long in the GLOCK long-travel style, which appears to lighten the slide.
Forward cocking is easy to use. Due to the size of the cartridge, the grip is long but narrow, but mostly manageable with a hand size.
The slide lock and magazine release controls require some manual adjustment. The pistol doesn't handle the heavier calibers, but it has no complaints in shooting.

The question is, "What would you do with a gun?" may ask. I believe every gun should have a well-defined purpose. This is a very interesting tool.
It's also useful for those who need a defensive rifle but can't afford a reload. It's an unbelievably powerful gun with no shortage of unreliable ammunition.
American Eagle loads are around 1700 fps, while FN loads with Hornady V-Max bullets are just over 1700 fps.
The V-Max shaft breaks in 18 inches of water and most breaks in the remaining six inches. It's a fun feature, but not one I'd personally want to live with.

We hope the new Spear Gold Dot load takes the 5.7x28mm to another level. The bottle's 5.7x28mm cartridge is 1.594 inches long.
That's not the length of the cartridge, but it's long compared to the .45 ACP's 1.250 inches. The .223 Remington is a 2.25-inch, 40-grain V-Max.
So, the 5.7x28mm is a long cartridge for the rifle. The reset is a little, a .22 magnetic trigger.
With 20 rounds and good, if not better, trigger and accuracy, the 5.7 pistol delivers the same energy at 100 yards as a .22 mag.

Although this rifle is questionable at 50 yards, it is a great insect and worm rifle. For defensive use, this is a great pistol for those who can't handle that much recoil.
I fired most of the federal American Eagle loads. I shot the X-Ring at seven, 10 and 15 yards at man-sized targets.
You can quickly create small groups. I don't believe the groups will save lives, but it is, the pistol is easy to use. It's not hard at all to fast forward between goals.
It's a clean burn and the right load. I've had a couple of failures feeding in the last corridor. I think I loaded the magazine correctly and it fit every magazine.
